We are a Berlin-based medtech startup dedicated to building AI-powered software that supports radiologists with their daily work: ​analyzing medical images. Our applications for identifying Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, aneurysms and cancer from MRI scans are already on the market and quickly gaining traction.
Crucial for our success is the seamless integration of our software into the radiologist's workflow. This is not only one main driver for customer satisfaction, but also helps us to collect annotated data, which is the basis of our machine learning models.

• You will build and improve software components for our existing and future medical products like mdbrain/mdprostate and our non-medical product mdhub.

• You will ensure the high quality of our software by suggesting new technologies, improving or setting new quality standards and analysing and proposing refactorings to the existing code base;

• You will work on improving or adding new automations to make sure our automated testing and deployment infrastructure is optimal and comprehensive;

• You will be proactive in suggesting ideas, solutions, improvements during product and technical discussions;

• You will be mentored by more senior engineers and eventually guide and support other junior engineers, participate in and lead periodic workshops to enhance the capabilities of the software team and take care that our internal documentation stays in great shape.

• You graduated in Computer Science;

• You have some experience as a Software Engineer;

• You want to grow into a true Full-stack Developer and are willing to bring your Python knowledge to the next level, as well as your Javascript/React knowledge.

• You have a pretty good understanding of operating systems, networking fundamentals and databases theory;

• You have some experience using Docker;

• You believe less is more and aim to always find simple and maintainable solutions to engineering problems. You are used to finding good compromises;

• You are fluent in English (at least C1).

One of the following makes you stand out:

• You have some experience working on Artificial Intelligence-related projects;

• You know and/or have worked with the DICOM protocol/standard before;

• You have experience with (medical) 3D image processing (extra bonus: in the browser using e.g. vtk.js, itk.js or cornerstone.js);

• You are also fluent in German (at least C1).

mediaire was founded in 2018 by Dr. Andreas Lemke and Dr. Jörg Döpfert – both physicists with a background in MRI physics.

The real founding history, however, dates back to 2009 when the scientific paths of Andreas and Jörg crossed several times with the renowned radiologist Prof. Henrik Michaely. Coming from different backgrounds and discovering that each had the same goal, the idea of a scientifically and economically successful high-tech product took shape – a software powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that allows highly efficient analysis of medical imaging data in Radiology to support radiologists in their daily routine.
