For the post-production of our Lebanese feature film IT'S A SAD AND BEAUTIFUL WOLRD by Cyril Aris, we are looking for support in the translation of film material (Arabic to English) from now until the end of August/beginning of September.

Vorgeschnittene Sequenzen mit arabischem Dialog (libanesischer Dialekt) sollen für den englischsprachigen Editor übersetzt werden, damit dieser damit arbeiten kann. Für die Übersetzung soll mit einer Untertitelungssoftware gearbeitet werden. Zudem ist ein Drehbuch in englischer Sprache als Grundlage verfügbar.

Pre-cut sequences with Arabic dialogue (Lebanese dialect) are to be translated for the English-speaking editor so that he can work with them. Subtitling software will be used for the translation. The script in English is also available as a basis.

Vorkenntnisse in der Übersetzung und Untertitelung sind von Vorteil, aber keine Notwendigkeit. Es besteht die Möglichkeit eine kleine Einführung in eine Untertitelungssoftware zu erhalten. Voraussetzung ist, dass Arabisch als Muttersprache gesprochen wird und sehr gute Englischkenntnisse vorliegen.

Previous knowledge of translation and subtitling is an advantage, but not a necessity. It is possible to receive a short introduction to subtitling software. A prerequisite is that Arabic is spoken as a native language and that you have a very good command of English.

The internship will give you an insight into the production of an international feature film and you will come into contact with the producers and director of the project. You will also work on a film that deals with current issues and problems in the Middle East, helping to raise awareness of these issues in international cinema.

Die Stelle kann entweder im Zuge eines Praktikums oder einer Werkstudententätigkeit angetreten werden.
