About the Teams 

Product Specialists, Development & Lifecycle Active  
As part of the global Product Division, our Product Specialist teams represent the center of competence for delivering the right products and solutions to our clients. This requires us to be experts in our respective asset classes and client segments, in order to adequately represent our portfolio teams in front of clients. In this function, we act as an intersection between our sales teams and the portfolio managers. In addition, we aspire to be innovators across the value chain which entails the launch of new products & solutions, pricing optimizations and being on the road to discuss with clients and distribution partners their individual investment needs.  

Additionally, our Product Trends team focuses on a streamlined approach to identifying market opportunities for global products, leading to a defined product strategy and ambitions. Therefore, Product Trends centers on trends and signals identification, capability assessment, and prioritization.  

As our Intern, you will: 

• Become an integral part of our team with clear responsibilities and room to learn and grow   

• Expand your knowledge about capital markets by working side-by-side with our portfolio managers and sales colleagues  

• Deepen your understanding of Active portfolio management strategies and learn how we can address the challenges our clients are facing in various market phases  

• Support the preparation of institutional client pitches as well as roadshows for retail distribution partners  

• Become involved in cross-divisional initiatives to steadily enhance our offering  

Structuring 
The structuring team develops investment solutions for our retail and institutional investors worldwide. While the focus of activities lies on quantitative aspects, also regulatory and / or accounting issues relating to the developed investment solutions are being analysed.  

As our Intern you will:  

• Working closely with the Structuring team on the development of new investment solutions and product concepts  

• Support the development of complex model-based Strategic Asset Allocations for institutional clients  

• Perform simulations and sensitivity analyses of various investment strategies and portfolio compositions and support the development of the applications used for this purpose in Python  

• Prepare documents supporting sales, product specialists and structurers in communicating complex investment solutions to clients  

• Learn about portfolio structuring and development of regulatory capital sensitive/efficient investment solutions  

Product Management 
The Product Management team drives success globally by advising on and implementing product events timely and efficiently, hand-in-hand with our partners , by promoting sound governance and agile and entrepreneurial engagement.  

We are a global team of around 100 professionals responsible for the liquid Active fund platforms with regards to lifecycle management (i.e. maintenance/closure/merger of existing fund range and launch of new funds; product related regulatory- and fund-registration issues, including production of regulatory required documents), platform solutions (i.e. new platforms where needed or enhance existing platforms; implement new corporate structures), the product governance process (i.e. assessment of and decision of implementation regarding product ideas with respect to operational, legal and regulatory feasibility) and seed money governance.  

We also have the responsibility for the institutional client onboarding (excluding KYC), including legal documentation (e.g. investment management agreements for segregated managed accounts, derivative agreements like ISDA, delegation agreements and documentation for German Spezialfonds).  
 
As our Intern you will:  

• Work on structuring and launching new investment funds  

• Work on onboarding new institutional mandates  

• Developing and improving process designing skills  

• Learn about the whole value chain of an asset manager and get involved with several different functions  

• Work in a highly motivated and engaged international team  

Requirements

We’re looking for:   

• Students with a quantitative focus (e.g. finance, business mathematics, mathematics or computer science)  
• Programming skills in Python are advantageous  
• Strong interest in capital markets and financial instruments  
• Driven, commitment and strong analytic skills    
• A team player with a curious mind     
• You are enrolled in your penultimate or last year of study, or on a gap year in between your Bachelor and Master’s degree  
• You need to be available for between 3-6 months. There are flexible intakes available - Spring, Summer and Autumn
