As our Team Lead Medical Experts (m/f/d), you will drive the development and execution of regional Medical Affairs strategies across our “Region International Markets” (RIM), ensuring the safe and effective use of Merz products while aligning with both international and local regulations. In this role, you'll oversee key Medical Affairs activities, including KOL relationships, HCP training, medical information support, and contributions to marketing and congresses. You will also represent the team at internal meetings, delivering impactful presentations.

 

YOUR IMPACT

  • Medical Strategy: Shape and implement regional medical strategies that align with scientific brand positioning, address unmet medical needs, and support the Merz product portfolio.

  • Scientific Training & Education: Design and deliver medical product trainings for distribution partners and RIM team. Plan and manage scientific trainings for healthcare professionals (HCPs), covering specialized areas such as injection techniques, ultrasound, and cadaver workshops.

  • Medico-Marketing Support: Provide medical expertise to the medico-marketing team, ensuring medical content in marketing materials complies with regulatory standards and legal requirements.

  • KOL Engagement: Cultivate and manage strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to enhance scientific communication, product positioning, and medical education initiatives.

  • Scientific Content & Data Communication: Develop and distribute scientific content for satellite symposia, advisory boards, and independent medical education platforms, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Budget Oversight: Manage the Medical Affairs budget for RIM, ensuring resource allocation for training, events, and medico-marketing activities is cost-effective.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of medical experts with diverse regional and product focus areas. Represent defined brands within Global Product Teams, ensuring alignment between regional and global strategies and communicating regional insights.

  • Launch Support: Provide medical expertise for product launches, ensuring scientific strategies complement marketing objectives and medical content adheres to compliance standards.

  • Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure all Medical Affairs activities meet SOPs, compliance policies, and regulatory requirements, while driving continuous process improvements.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work proactively with non-medical teams to support project execution, including medico-marketing activities, and act as a deputy for colleagues handling medical information requests and competitive intelligence.

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • MD or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or related Life Sciences field.

  • Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 3 years in Medical Affairs, with a strong track record in KOL management and medical project leadership.

  • Excellent presentation and training skills, capable of conveying complex scientific concepts effectively.

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is desirable, and additional language skills (e.g., Spanish, French) are an advantage.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for business purposes.

  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a scientific or medical context.

  • Experience in leading teams, with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff.

  • High level of intercultural competence, able to work effectively in diverse, global teams.
