Research Intern for network clock synchronization (m/f/d)
This is a research position for an internship student with a minimum duration of 6 months.
Description
Clock synchronization plays a key role in enabling deterministic networking in different industrial domains, e.g., wide area networks, time sensitive networks, data center networks and power grid systems. A network with precise clock synchronization empowers novel applications that could not be supported before. This project aims to investigate several research challenges during clock synchronization, e.g., impact of clock noise on synchronization precision, choice of a robust estimator for clock offset and skew tracking.
Responsibilities
- Establish an simulation environment for clock synchronization
- Simulate different noise sources in the aforementioned simulation environment
- Evaluate performance of a clock synchronization scheme in the simulation environment
Requirements
- Master (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, etc.
- SW and programming experience in network-relevant areas, including but not limited to network simulation (e.g., NS2/3, Omnest, Omnet++), IP protocol processing, configuration of network environments, Linux-level programming
- Background in networking fundamentals, e.g., routing, scheduling algorithms, and stochastic systems.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Must be eligible to work in the EU to be considered for this position
What you can expect
- Our culture is characterized by innovative power and team spirit as well as the intensive exchange of knowledge and experience within our global network.
- We offer you a competitive compensation package and a broad range of training opportunities. Many online and face-to-face training programs.
- Self-responsible work in a competent, motivated and constantly growing team.
