As soon as possible, we want to cover an open vacancy, for our Munich based office, in full-time (38 hours/week). Therefore, we are looking for a: Senior Application Analyst / Mathematical Optimization of Power Systems (m/f/d) In this role you will be working on one of the most exciting topics that drives the energy transition in Europe, the Mathematical Optimization of European Power System! Using the technology, the fastest and most powerful commercially available mathematical programming solver you will turn a business problem into a mathematical model. By doing this you will enable finding the most reliable and cost-efficient operational settings for European Power System for every hour in a year!Your responsibilitiesCollaborate with internal stakeholders (service teams and project teams) in order to understand the business needs and the problems they need to solveDevelop mathematical models that describe the business problem (focus on European Power System with an objective to find the most reliable and cost-efficient operational settings)Collaborate with the Application Manager on the backlog of our mathematical optimization applicationCreate and maintain functional requirements documentation for software developmentAlign with software suppliers regarding system and application requirements for software deliverables at the same time ensuring security compliance and catalogue maintenanceCoordinate testing activities for 3rd party software developmentDeliver training, training material or support training of new joiners and support staff as new or improved features are added to the services and products in cooperation with internal training specialists Your qualifications Bachelor´s Degree in Science, Power System / Electrical Engineering, Math or similarComputational experience in linear programming (LP) and mixed-integer programming (MIP)Basic understanding of power system fundaments and load flow theoryExperience with requirements engineering analysisAdvantage, but not mandatory: exposure to Information Technology, ITIL, Agile working in DevOps, CI/CD Pipeline Our benefits Work in a crisis-proof industryFlexible working hours with home and mobile office optionsExcellent public transport connectionsErgonomic workplace designBike leasing offerSuitable professional development programmesFree drinks and fresh fruit Are you interested?Join us as we secure Europe's electricity supply and contribute to the energy transition.
