Position Overview:


As a Data Engineer with expertise in cloud technologies and Python, you will play a crucial role in our Group IT department. You will actively contribute to the evolution of the Advanced Data Analytics platform, ensuring its efficiency and future-proofing. Your responsibilities will encompass data architecture, technical evaluations, and the implementation of data analysis requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively control and enhance the data architecture on our Advanced Data Analytics platform (cloudera)
  • Provide advice, support, and implement technical data evaluations and data analysis requirements
  • Support architectural topics in the big data environment and integrate new technologies/design decisions
  • Operate and further develop Analytics Microservices for a broad banking user group
  • Evaluate new products and features on the platform, translating them into technical requirements for the data management team
  • Design and implement automated data pipelines for processing unstructured data and structuring it in the data lake


Requirements:

  • Degree in business/computer science or equivalent qualifications
  • Good understanding of banking processes and contexts
  • Proficient in data structures (e.g., relational, graph-like)
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and strong knowledge of big data ecosystems (Hadoop)
  • Very good SQL skills and programming experience in Python, PowerShell, VBA, and object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, C++)
  • Excellent communication skills, confident demeanour, entrepreneurial thinking
  • Strong analytical skills, high level of abstraction, initiative, and ability to work in a team
  • Fluent in German and advanced English skills
