Business Development Manager - BESS - Dusseldorf


I'm supporting a globally recognisable brand, who are searching for a Business Development Manager to come and join their team in the HQ in Dusseldorf. On the back of a successful 2024, they are looking to further expand their sales team to continue their growth across Europe.

This role would not only be focussed on Germany, but also Poland Czech Republic are markets that have been mentioned.


This business made their name in commercial goods, but 6 years ago transitioned in a pure-renewable energy focus, specifically in the BESS market.


They are a lithium-ion battery manufacturer focussing on heavy duty applications, fuel cells and robotics with their products. This known brand are focussing on the DACH region, with key customers being wholesalers, distributors and installers across the countries.


For this position, you will be directly reporting in the Head of Sales for Europe, whilst taking over the accounts they have been managing for the past 3 years.


I'm looking to speak to people who have:

  • 4 years of sales experience in the renewable energy markets (preferably BESS).
  • Fluent in German, with other European languages being a plus.
  • Traditional hunter mentality.
  • Strong technical understanding of the products you are selling.
  • Comfortable giving technical talks to customers, but also representing the company at trade shows.

Responsibilities include:

  • Breaking into new businesses and markets (70%) in addition to securing new business, you will also be expected to find new markets or segments in the market to break into. To further increase revenue streams for the company.
  • Key Account Manager (20%) where you are continuing to farm the existing relationships, but also manager the commercial agreements and pricing strategies.
  • Frontend Promotional Strategies (10%) you will be the face of the brand across the four markets you cover. This includes attending trade shows and exhibitions representing the brand.



This role not only allows you to work for a globally recognisable brand, but gives you clear career progression plans either through building your own team, or growing your responsibilities across locations or managing the major accounts.
