JOB DESCRIPTION:

Commvault is seeking an Associate Sales Engineer (ASE) to grow into the role of orchestrating pre-sales engagement to current and prospective clients! The position requires a technical professional who understands how their decisions impact and influence the customer’s bottom line while at the same time drive revenue for Commvault.

The ASE will be mentored and trained to develop into the role of being the trusted partner of the client and contribute to overall success of Commvault. During his/her development the ASE will learn to drive or support sales opportunities by translating business requirements into solution technical requirements; coordinating technical expertise; sizing, scoping, defining delivery and deployment approach, timeline, and required resources; coordinating demonstrations and proof-of-concept; and supporting internal deal acceptance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work as part of a virtual Sales Engineering team and leverage internal mentors to continually improve upon existing knowledge and experience.

  • Develop the skills necessary to propose and demonstrate the Commvault suite of products through the use of remote and onsite demos, white board, presentations, etc.

  • Develop specific areas of expertise in complementary technologies virtualization, storage infrastructure, deduplication, devops, containers) in addition to maintaining broad core product skills.

  • Work with internal departments (sales, support, marketing, development), as appropriate, to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the customer experience is extremely positive.

  • Assist with development of toolkits and systems to facilitate knowledge transfer and efficiency.

  • Focus on providing technical advise to design and sell a solution in collaboration with Sales Rep, lead generation and the customer.

  • Anticipate technology trends and optimally build positive relationships with partners and internal departments (sales, support, business units, product management, marketing, development and customer success), as appropriate, to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the customer experience is very positive.

  • Embrace calling on senior level IT leadership engage with the customer to qualify and understand key technical, financial, operational, and business issues that can be addressed with any or all of Commvault’s products.

  • Proactive in establishing relationships with technical decision makers within end-user accounts and with internal teams.

  • Who You Are:

  • Experience serving in a pre-sales sales or Professional Services engineer role

  • Excellent written, presentation and communication skill

  • Comfortable with talking about technology and business

  • Ideally experienced in a customer facing role presenting and delivering a Proof of Concepts

  • Ability to work in a rapid growth environment where priorities, roles and responsibilities are continuously updated to meet market and customer demands.

  • Knowledge/skills and demonstrated proficiency with at least one major technology; operating systems, VMs, cloud, databases, K8s or Microsoft

  • Ability to work in an organised, procedural manner using tools such as to facilitate process and information organisation.

  • Relevant Industry certification(s), cloud as a preference

  • An ability to demonstrate an understanding of the sales cycle

  • Able to work remotely and autonomously and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to travel

  • Fluent German and English language skills
