Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Systems Engineering to lead our weapon systems engineering team. This role involves overseeing the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced weapon systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, a proven track record in defense projects, and exceptional leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management:
• Lead and mentor a team of systems engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
• Develop and manage the engineering team's objectives, deliverables, and performance metrics.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to drive engineering excellence.
• Systems Engineering:
• Oversee the full systems engineering lifecycle for weapon systems, including requirements definition, design, integration, verification, and validation.
• Ensure that systems engineering processes are adhered to and that projects meet technical, schedule, and budgetary requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., software, hardware, and test engineering) to ensure system requirements are effectively integrated and validated.
• Project Management:
• Develop and manage project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, risk management, and budget control.
• Monitor project progress and performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve project goals.
• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Technical Expertise:
• Provide technical leadership in weapon systems engineering, applying advanced engineering principles and practices.
• Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging threats to inform system design and development.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure that engineering solutions meet their requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role within the defense industry.
• Proven experience in the design, development, and integration of weapon systems or complex defense technologies.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements management, risk management, and system validation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Experience with project management tools and techniques, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of relevant defense industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
