Sales Executive - Freight Forwarding

You’d be selling ocean and air freight solutions to customers across NRW for a €15billion+ worldwide group, with all the benefits that come from being in a larger organisation


You’ll be using the advanced features of the world’s best CRM, Salesforce to aim for at least 24 customer activities a month, across visits, calls and video meetings


You will be focusing on customers in the consumer goods, household products and fashion sectors. Even your mother will have heard of many of their existing customers.


As a ‘hunter’ you’ll be focusing about 70% of your time on new potential customers, with huge scope when it comes to the lanes and modes you can offer, thanks to their massive carrier network


Of course you can expect a best-in-class onboarding and training program, to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills for success. You'll need to be fluent in German, but your English skills are less important here.


You’ll need to have good existing knowledge in freight though it doesn’t matter if it’s more air or ocean. In this role about 75% of the solutions sold are Ocean import.


The import locations are mainly China, India, South East Asia, but the export locations are much wider including USA, South Africa, Middle East.


After 1-2 years in the role you’d expect to be bringing in €400k profit, although performance of €600-700k is quite possible.


You won’t feel overwhelmed with the size of the business though, as the Düsseldorf branch where you will spend a few days a month is a team of just 17 people, so you can get to know everyone well.


You’ll love the stability of the management here. With most of the leadership being in place for 10+ years, including your direct boss. No rapid changes of direction here.


Depending on your experience you could expect a base salary of €65,000 - €85,000 plus 15-20% on-target bonus and a great benefit offering with company car
