Position Summary:


The European Business Development - Associate Director is responsible for driving business growth and expanding the company's market presence across Europe. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing and executing strategic plans, managing key client relationships, and coordinating with internal teams to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will be based in North Germany, where a hybrid working option will be offered.


Key Responsibilities:


Market Analysis and Strategy Development:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics across European countries.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans tailored to the European market, including market entry and growth strategies.


Business Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential markets, strategic partnerships, and clients.
  • Explore and establish partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances with local businesses, distributors, and other stakeholders.


Client and Partner Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders across Europe.
  • Manage major accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.


Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets and increase market share in the European region.
  • Lead negotiations and secure contracts with clients and partners, ensuring favorable terms for the company.


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team by attracting, retaining, and developing top talent.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to team members, enabling them to excel in their roles and achieve their career goals.


Operational Excellence:

  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure efficient and effective operations across all departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
  • Implement best practices and quality standards to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to evaluate the company's performance and make data-driven decisions.


Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align business development efforts with company objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of business development initiatives, ensuring effective coordination among teams and timely execution.


Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development activities and market performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities in the European market.


Networking and Brand Representation:

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events across Europe to promote the brand and establish connections.
  • Enhance the company’s visibility and reputation within the European market through targeted promotional activities and networking.


Qualifications:

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in the European market.
  • Skills:
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in analysing market data and performance metrics.
  • Ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • High cultural awareness and understanding of diverse European business practices.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in German & English is required. Proficiency in additional European languages is an advantage.

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Frequent travel within Europe is required and will be based in Germany.
  • Work Environment: This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which will allow the successful candidate to split their time between regular attendance to our German office, and work from their home.
