Our client runs a top online comparison platform in Germany. They specialize in digital insurance solutions that make it easy for consumers to compare and buy various types of insurance, like car, health, and home insurance, from different providers. Their platform simplifies the process, providing clear information to help users find the best coverage at competitive prices. Using technology, they aim to improve customer satisfaction and promote financial understanding in the insurance industry.


The company has over 3000 professionals in Germany across several locations. They're looking for a Junior Android Developer to join their Hamburg IT team.


Position: Junior Android Developer InsurTech
Location: Hamburg, Germany (on-site, full-time, permanent)
Agile Software Development: Work in Scrum or Kanban teams
Company Dynamics: Big company with small teams, fostering direct communication (7-8 employees per team)
Tech Stack: Kotlin with Compose and XML layout.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently developing new features and collaborating closely with product managers.
  • Analyzing technical requirements alongside the product management team.
  • Ensuring quality and functionality through unit and integration testing.
  • Participating actively in code reviews for knowledge sharing.
  • Integrating modern backend services and expanding UI toolkits.
  • Enhancing user experience, particularly on mobile devices, to meet customer needs.
  • Receiving guidance from experienced Senior/Lead Developers for complex tasks.

Requirements
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience in a programming language, with a keen interest in expanding their skills.
