The Philipps University of Marburg will strengthen and further develop subject didactics in the STEM subjects. These two professorships are to network with the other STEM subject didactics to innovatively (further) develop the teaching and research profile of the UMR in STEM didactics and address the cross-cutting issues in teacher education (including inclusion, digitalization, AI in the context of teaching, education for sustainable development, citizen science). The internationalization of teacher education will be systematically advanced at the UMR, in which the subject didactics professorships are also to participate. In addition to subject didactic teaching, the professorships are to conceive didactic teaching/learning offers in close cooperation with the Center for Teacher Education (ZfL) and together with the other natural science subjects (Geography, Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science) in order to strengthen the subject-specific professionalization of teacher education within the framework of subject didactics.
