We are currently looking to fill the following part-time position (pre-doc, 65%):  

Academic Researcher (m/f/x) at the Chair of International Security Policy (pre-doc, 65%) 

Due to a parental leave replacement this is a temorary position that starts on Dec.1st 2024 and ends on January 31st 2026.

Your tasks

• Collaboration in sub-project D04 “Affective Contestation: Dynamics of a contested emotion policy in European migration policy” as part of the third term of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1171 “Affective Societies”
• Participation in case studies on emotion discourses in the context of European migration policy
• Own research work (e.g. as part of a doctorate)
• Administrative activities (e.g. organization of a methods workshop)

Your profile

• Very good master’s degree in the social sciences or related fields
• Very good methodological knowledge in discourse analysis, content analysis and/or social media analysis
• Very good written and spoken English skills
• Teaching experience is an advantage
• Willingness to work closely with the other sub-projects of the CRC at the Free University of Berlin (place of work is Friedrichshafen or Berlin)
