Engineering Manager | Go, K8s, SRE | €120k | Berlin
My client is seeking a passionate and experienced Engineering Manager to build and lead a brand new greenfield project for their newest and largest customer. You will be tasked with designing and creating an on-premise, air-tight cloud infrastructure system for one of the largest organisations in Germany.
Here the team would be built by and around you, from the ground up as you would spearhead the one of the biggest projects the company has ever seen.
You'll be responsible for recruiting, managing and motivating your developers, coaching them for personal growth and development, and overseeing the development and operations of the new cloud system.
Qualifications:
- Several years of experience in technical management
- Extensive experience with Golang , deep Kubernetes knowledge, and Cloud Native Technologies
- Extensive knowledge and willingness to focus sprints and sub-projects on operations and reliability.
- Good Knowledge of DevOps, K8s, load balancers, GitOps, CI/CD and APIs.
- Strong leadership skills, including managing and mentoring software engineers
- Experienced in continuously shipping products and coordinating releases
- Strong collaboration skills, including cross-functional team collaboration and working with stakeholders from engineering, operations, support, and product teams
- Strong experience with building high-quality products based on end-to-end automated testing
- Experienced in attracting, recruiting, and retaining talent
Responsibilities:
- Lead your team to build and run cloud infrastructure products and systems.
- Willingness to be hands-on with the code base where needed
- Plan and execute complex technical projects related to network products
- Collaborate with technical leads to contribute to the overall architecture, design, and development of products
- Manage project schedules and ensure successful product and feature rollouts
- Recruit, coach, and mentor software engineers, and develop processes to improve team performance and quality
- Create a healthy team culture with transparent communication
- Provide coaching and counselling through mentoring and one-to-one meetings
- Plan and conduct training for the engineering team
