We are looking for a Scientist in model-based purification development who is passionate about applying and advancing a world leading simulation software for the development of biopharmaceutical production processes to join our team in Karlsruhe, Germany. As a Scientist , you will be working together with the GoSilico team in Karlsruhe, Germany, and the Bioprocess R&D team in Uppsala Sweden. Specifically, you will develop and showcase new applications for model-based purification development for our international customers in the area of Biopharma research, development and manufacturing. This is a temporary position opened for 3 years.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Performing applied research in the field of bioprocess development
Find accurate and performant mechanistic models for downstream purification processes, in particular for different modalities of chromatographic separation and various molecule formats
Work with internal and external teams on development projects as well as conduct independent research
Support GoSilico’s Customer Success team in scientific discussions
Publication of results in scientific articles and presentation at scientific conferences in the field of biomanufacturing
The essential requirements of the job include:
PhD degree in biotechnology, bioprocess/biomedical engineering, physics, applied mathematics or related sciences
In depth knowledge of downstream process development, chromatography, resins and protein analytics
A solid experience and understanding of mathematic models and physical/chemical fundamentals
Strong presentation, scientific writing and communication skills
Proficient in English (oral and writing)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Mechanistic modeling of chromatography or related separation technologies
Programming in C++, Python, Matlab or similar
