The impact you’ll have
This is a pivotal role within our organisation, offering the chance to shape and deliver our international flight supply strategy as we expand across Europe. You will be instrumental in driving our growth by securing and optimising flight options for our customers, ensuring we offer competitive and compelling holiday packages.
Reporting to the Director of Aviation for functional expertise and aligning with the International team for market expansion strategy, you'll be a key player in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Drive strategic growth: You will lead the research, development, and execution of our international flight supply strategy, directly impacting our ability to enter new European markets and increase market share.
Secure competitive advantage: By forging strong relationships with airlines, consolidators, and technology providers, you'll ensure we have access to the best flight options at the most competitive prices.
Enhance customer experience: You'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional holiday experiences by providing a wide range of flight choices that meet the diverse needs of our European customer base.
Your day-to-day:
This a varied role, with flexibility required:
Supplier relationship management
Build and optimise relationships with airlines and consolidator partners to ensure weloveholidays has access to the best pricing and availability in the market
Lead Quarterly Business Review with local airline and technology partners
Account management of an agreed portfolio of airlines
Market analysis & contracting
Conduct seasonal reviews of tour operator content in the local market and negotiation of new tour operator contracts as applicable
Regular reviews of technology and consolidated flight providers in the European market to ensure that we love holidays has the best access to supply
Strategic planning & execution
Close working relationship with HQ Supply team in order to leverage centrally held low-cost and scheduled carrier relationships
Review and make recommendations to the business where opportunities exist for commitment with airlines, and reviewing risk versus reward
Represent the Aviation team as part of the international expansion program, delivering regular market intelligence and progress reports
Working with the wider Aviation team and flight supply tech team to agree priorities for development to support both DE and new European expansion markets
Reporting & performance management
Ownership and delivery of agreed quarterly targets
- Working cross functionally with the wider Supply, Revenue Management, Trading and Marketing teams to ensure airline tactical opportunities are maximised
Data-assisted & clear communication of trading performance and actions to close gaps and double down on growth areas
Delivering monthly reporting to consolidators, airline partners and airports
Your skillset:
Extensive flight supply & package travel knowledge
Deep understanding of the B2B aviation sales landscape in Europe, in particular for package travel
Well connected with airlines and consolidators in Europe, particularly in Germany
Commercial acumen
Strong communication and negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure competitive deals and optimise flight costs
High commercial acumen, with strong knowledge of airline contracts
Data-assisted approach
Numerate and data proficient
Ability to translate data into investment cases and commercial value
Communication & relationship building
Ability to work closely with internal and external partners and develop relationships
Comfortable collating and delivering presentations to a cross functional audience
Team player with a can do attitude
Highly organised and able to work in a fast paced environment
Desirable (optional)
User experience with tools for monitoring competitiveness in the DP space
Experience of flight investments and volume agreements in Europe
Multi-lingual: Fluency in one or more European languages (especially German and Dutch)
Experience launching new products or successfully entering new markets within the travel industry
