Job Description Role: Senior Product Owner Location:Mainz, Germany Duration: 6-12 month rolling contract Working Mode:Remote with occasional travel Job Description: Project Context: TheIPS project focuses on introducing an integrated IT solution forthe planning and implementation of resources for locomotives (Tfz)and locomotive drivers (Tf). The role of the Senior Product Owneris essential for managing and prioritizing features within theagile framework, collaborating with business analysts anddevelopment teams, ensuring TAF/TSI conformity, and providingtechnical leadership across multiple sub-products. Additionally,the Senior Product Owner will coach the project team andstakeholders on agile methodologies. The project includes anationwide rollout in 2025, as well as training for users, and willlast until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of contractextensions. Services Required: Backlog Management: Collaboratingwith business analysts to define and prioritize features and userstories in the sprint backlog. Agile Leadership: Coaching theproject team and stakeholders on agile working methods incoordination with project management. Stakeholder Collaboration:Ensuring strong communication and cooperation with other ProductOwners to manage dependencies and identify interactions in thedevelopment process. Test Management: Define test cases forregression testing, in cooperation with test management teams,based on the technical requirements. Risk Analysis and Mitigation:Supporting risk analysis, including those related to interfaces,performance, and data consistency. Quality Assurance: Ensuring theimplementation of high-quality software solutions in line withbusiness and technical requirements. Documentation: Preparation anddocumentation of technical requirements in both German and English.Nationwide Rollout Support: Ensuring smooth deployment of the ITsolution across multiple locations, including user training.Project Details: Location: The project will be executed in Mainz,Germany, with a combination of remote and onsite service provision.Regular onsite activities are expected, particularly during projectworkshops. Service Provision: The service provider will workindependently and self-organized, delivering the Senior ProductOwner role. This includes managing and prioritizing the productbacklog, working with other stakeholders, and ensuring thattechnical and business requirements are met for the IPS solution.Technical Requirements: Experience: 5+ years of experience as aProduct Owner or in a similar leadership role in agile softwaredevelopment. Proven experience in working with agile teams,including the use of Scrum or SAFe frameworks. Experience in ITdevelopment in the transport and logistics industry, particularlyin resource management and schedule management. Experience withsoftware solutions like DELMIA Quintiq and Camunda in the contextof resource management and timetable management. Proven experiencein the creation and prioritization of user stories and managingproduct backlogs for large, complex, interdisciplinary softwareprojects. Experience with offshore development teams andcoordinating international work across teams. Experience inimplementing test cases, particularly for regression andperformance testing, in close collaboration with test management.Experience coaching teams in agile methodologies and serving as amentor to both internal and external stakeholders. Proven trackrecord in managing cross-functional product teams and ensuringtimely delivery in complex, agile projects. Skills: AgileMethodologies: Strong skills in Scrum and SAFe, with experienceleading agile teams and implementing agile processes. BacklogManagement: Deep understanding of how to create and prioritizefeatures, user stories, and technical requirements in collaborationwith business analysts and stakeholders. Stakeholder Management:Strong communication skills in both German and English fordocumentation and interaction with internal and externalstakeholders. Test Management: Experience in defining and managingtest cases for regression and performance tests. Risk Management:Ability to analyze and mitigate risks related to projectinterfaces, performance, and data consistency. Coaching andMentoring: Experience coaching IT teams and stakeholders in agilepractices and processes to improve delivery outcomes. ToolProficiency: Familiarity with tools like JIRA for projectmanagement, along with DELMIA Quintiq and Camunda for resourcemanagement.
