Salary:Based on experience – between 70,000 and 85,000

with 25% bonus and company car


Reports to: Regional Sales Manager


Travel Expectations:This is a 100% field sales position, travel is expected every week


Company Overview:

Founded in 1937, operating with twenty-five manufacturing facilities in eight-teen locations, with four R&D centres. The hiring company operates within the plastics industry, manufacturing a wide selection of masterbatch products which fit into many market sectors and applications. Partnered with suppliers and customers they create masterbatch formulations.


Role Overview:

The Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring the hiring company meet business targets that have been set by headquarters. The selected candidate will develop and implement sales plans designed to accomplish the goals established for the region by corporate management.


  • Assist the Regional Sales Manager with formulating the annual sales budget for designated territory and action plans that will result in the achievement of the territory objectives.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams, such as the customer service and technical service personnel, to ensure the territorial business plans and implemented, executed and successful.
  • In addition, liaise internally to ensure that customers’ needs are met and exceeded.
  • Have a strong understanding of customer’s products (portfolios) and process (production) capabilities. (key contact, previous sales results and products purchased – for all accounts in territory).
  • Work closely with technical and manufacturing to identify requirements and recommend changes needed to improve service provided to customer accounts.
  • Explore niche opportunities to grow the business.
  • Update computer database (CRM) and effectively communicate progress.
  • Accurate and timely completion of administrative duties, which include weekly call reports, expense reports, update personal records.
  • Advise Regional Manager of industry trends, current resin pricing, competitive activity and all other pertinent intelligence.
  • Review all product returns and/or rejections by customers and determine reasons for the return and give recommendations to the Regional Manager.
  • Apply pricing policies established by the Regional Manager and maintain special pricing within these guidelines according to product, quantity and customer considerations.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience within a sales environment, ideally coming from within the plastics industry or has a connection to the industry.
  • A relevant degree would be advantageous: such as chemistry, materials science, polymer chemistry, business or economics as examples.
  • Possess German and English language skills.
  • A willingness to travel and work remotely.
  • An interest and/or a proven track record developing and winning new business.
